provisions and arrangements

Now that you've scheduled Sam to speak, below are a few things to help you plan.

Air Transportation
We have found that it is easier for us to book the flight for Sam and then send the ticket information (arrival/departure times and cost) to the church for reimbursement.  Sam will fly from Charlotte, North Carolina to the airport nearest you (or the airport of your preference).  Flights are paid with our Ministries credit card, so if reimbursements could be processed prior to Sam’s arrival, that would
be a great help as it would prevent us from paying credit card interest.  For events that are less than a 4 hour’s drive, Sam can simply drive.

Ground Transportation
Concerning ground transportation for Sam during his stay, a rental car is always nice.  If you do decide to go that route, we have found that it is easiest for Sam to simply rent a car upon his arrival and then submit the receipt to the church.  There are other options for transportation that work just as well.  Many churches have a church vehicle that they lend to him for the duration of his stay, and others prefer to have someone meet him and see that he gets to the services.  Sam is flexible with whatever method that your budget allows.

Lodging
Typically, the church/organization is more familiar with the area than Sam is and many have special rates with certain hotels, so the church/organization usually makes the lodging arrangements for Sam and then sends the information to our office.  Lodging accommodations that provide wireless internet access are always helpful.

Honorarium and Reimbursement Checks
Checks can be made out to Sam Farina Ministries, Inc.  A copy of our W-9 is available by
emailing our office.

PowerPoint
When available, Sam often uses PowerPoint presentations to accompany his speaking.  The presentation will be prepared before hand, and Sam will bring it with him on a memory stick.  Sam can give the file to a media technician and guide him/her through the presentation prior to his speaking.

Sam’s Wife, Vicki
Whenever possible Sam’s wife Vicki will accompany him.  Since she is currently enrolled in an intense master’s degree program, Vicki is unable to attend every event, but when she can, it is a nice treat!  Vicki assists at the resource table which frees Sam to focus on personal interaction before and after speaking.  Vicki also often helps with prayer and at the altar.

Resource Table
Sam will be traveling with books and CD’s so having a table ready for him would be wonderful.  You can determine the best location for the table, such as a foyer.
