about sam
Sam Farina is an evangelist and life coach.
He is passionate about encouraging people, training believers, and partnering with leaders to help them lead from a faith perspective.
Sam’s credentials make him a leader among men. He has been a pastor and evangelist under the auspices of the Assemblies of God for 30 years, and he earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education from AGTS
(the Assemblies of
God Theological
Seminary) in 2005. In addition, Sam is a member of the International Coaching Federation and adheres and teaches the competencies required for their certification. Also, Sam is certified as a Network Congregational Coach with Leadership Development Resources and holds certification with Valwood Christian Leadership Coaching.
After serving as a Senior Pastor in Concord, North Carolina, Sam returned to the evangelistic field. The General Council of the Assemblies of God conferred his Certificate of Ordination in 1977. Since that time, Sam has traveled extensively conducting services, retreats, crusades, summer youth and family camps and addressing students in public and private schools throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He has taught pastors in pastoral settings and has been actively involved in training youth leaders in Poland and Romania.
In the fall of 1993, Sam was asked to address 15,000 pastors at the 45th General Council of the Assemblies of God. The General Council, which convenes biennially, is considered the most significant forum of the Assemblies of God in the United States. Sam has published articles in various church-related magazines and newsletters such as Evangelists’ Fellowship, The Youth Leader, Advance, and the Pentecostal Evangel, and he has been a featured guest on several Christian radio and television broadcasts.
In his local
community, Sam has
served on the
Steering Committee
of Envision Cabarrus
for the greater
Cabarrus County. He
has also served on
the Convention and
Visitors Board and
Crime Stoppers Board
as Vice-Chairman and
on the Board of
Directors for Hope
for the City in
Chicago, Illinois,
an inner-city
ministry to Cabrini
Green and the Robert
Taylor Housing
Projects. Sam spent
10 years serving as
co-director of
Chicago Outreach, an
inner-city ministry.
He has also served
for three years as
co-director of the
Youth Advisory
Board, an
international
gathering of youth
ministers. In
addition, Sam has
served on both the
Spiritual Life
Committee and the
National
Evangelists’
Committee of the
General Council of
the Assemblies of
God.
Sam was selected as
an Outstanding Young
Man of America for
1979 in recognition
of outstanding
professional
achievement,
superior leadership
ability, and
exceptional service
to the community.
Sam is married to
his college
sweetheart, Vicki.
Together they have
one married son, and
in August 2007 they
were blessed with
their first
granddaughter. Sam
and Vicki reside in
Huntersville, North
Carolina.
